SI-GAAH
A Staged Photography Exhibition by Pendar Pazargadi

About Exhibition
Si-Gaah is a powerful solo exhibition by Iranian Canadian artist Pendar Pazargadi.
The exhibition features eleven intricately staged photographs, each inspired by verses from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh: The Epic of the Persian Kings. Through a fusion of fine art photography and classical Persian storytelling, Pazargadi offers a contemporary reimagining of this literary masterpiece.
Drawing inspiration from Jeff Wall’s conceptual techniques and years of in-depth research into the Shahnameh, Pazargadi constructs cinematic tableaux—complete with custom sets, lighting, costumes, and symbolic detail—that explore themes of love, war, fate, loss, and heroism.
A short video installation accompanies the exhibition, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s creative process—from poetic verse to visual storytelling.
